Supertest: FV1066 Senlac

$

0

Today marks the start of the Supertest for a new Premium British Tier VIII light tank: the Senlac.

What’s so special about it? Quite a few things:

  1. The turret of this vehicle is at the rear, yet it’s a well-rounded light tank with a top forward speed of 65 km/h and a top reverse speed of 23 km/h.
  2. The Senlac’s gun has good armor penetration (189 mm with a basic round), small aiming time (1.8 seconds), and decent stabilization. Still, this tank cannot excel as a sniper because of low accuracy (the dispersion is 0.42 m at 100 meters’ distance).
  3. The Senlac’s HE shells deal 280 points of damage. They have 90 mm of armor penetration, making the Brit a real scourge of enemy vehicles with thin armor. The HE shells fired by the Senlac travel at the same speed as basic rounds (1020 meters per second) which means they are way faster than HE shells of other tanks.

Gameplay-wise, the Senlac is much like the HWK 30. At the beginning of a battle, you can act as an effective active spotter (provided that even faster vehicles aren’t present in your team). By the battle’s end (with enemy light tanks already back in their Garages) you can get more aggressive.

The Senlac has a crew of three.

Please take note that the vehicle’s stats aren’t yet final and may change depending on the test results.

Follow the news and good luck in your battles!

From EU portal

Main Changes:

1. WoT Premium Account

A new type of the Premium Account (WoT Premium Account/WoT PA) is introduced.

This type of the Premium Account works only in WoT. WoT Premium Account provides bonuses to experience, Crew Experience, and credits, as well as access to new functionality:

  1. Reserve Stock
The Reserve Stock allows receiving extra 750,000 credits per week. An additional 10% bonus on top of the credits you earn in battles will fall into a special vault. Every 7 days, the vault will open, and all credits accumulated in it will be automatically moved to your account.
  2. Platoon bonus
If at least one player in a Platoon has WoT PA, that player will earn +15% to credits for every battle. The one who doesn’t have WoT PA, will receive +10% to credits.
  3. Manageble bonus to XP
Thanks to WoT Premium Account, players will be able to apply the x3 multiplier and increase the experience earned in their latest victorious battle. This x3 multiplier can be applied to the Battle Results five times a day.
  4. Premium missions
Owners of WoT Premium Account will have the opportunity to complete a chain of 3 simple daily missions.
  5. All owners of WoT PA will have one more slot for map blacklisting, so they will be able to exclude 2 maps in total. As long as WoT Premium Account is active, the player will not fight on two excluded maps in the Random Battles (for Standard Battles only).

Specifics of the WoT Premium Account Release

All players will receive the same number of days of regular Premium Account, in the form of World of Tanks Premium account, on release day.

Both versions of the Premium Account will exist together, however WoT Premium Account will be active in the game client. Regular Premium Account can be active only if WoT Premium Account expires.

Related Game Client Changes

  1. The interface of the Player’s Account has been reworked. Now, a click on the player’s nickname in the Garage displays the Account Status interface, where a player will be able to view their current Premium Account status and go to the interface of the new WoT Premium Account options. The interface also allows managing Personal Reserves.
  2. Added explanations and descriptions for all new entities of the new WoT Premium Account, as well as management tools for them.
  3. The Platoon bonus of WoT Premium Account is now added to the existing bonus, when playing in Platoon.
  4. In the Store, players can purchase only WoT Premium Account.
  5. Regular Premium Account is no longer available for purchasing or receiving in the game client. Regular Premium Account will be replaced with WoT Premium Account through all aspects of the game, including: missions, events, Personal Missions, etc.

2. Changes to the Ranked Battles

  1. Added the Role Experience functionality that replaced experience “for active combat engagement”. In the Battle Notifications, implemented additional indication of completing role actions.
  2. Reworked the player’s progression, added divisions and the Bonus Battle mechanics.
  3. Reworked the home screen interface for the Ranked Battle mode considering introduction of the divisions.
  4. Added the Annual Rewards mechanics. Reworked the interface of the reward screen.
  5. Disabled friendly fire (with shots and by ramming). Reworked the sounds and effects of direct hits fired by allies. Improved the system of penalties for damaging modules and stunning allies.
  6. Reworked the Season Leaders interface. Revised the conditions of taking a position on the leaderboard.

3. Excluded Maps

  1. Players can exclude one or two maps from the map list of the Random Battles.
  2. Standard Account allows excluding one map; WoT Premium Account allows excluding two maps.
  3. Excluded maps work only for vehicles of Tier IV or higher.
  4. Note that maps can be excluded only in the Random Battles mode (for the Standard Battle only). For example, a player excludes Siegfried Line but they will keep fighting on the map in the Assault and Encounter Battle types, if the corresponding options are enabled in the Settings.
  5. Maps of the Grand Battles cannot be excluded.
  6. Excluded maps can be changed when the 4-hour cooldown elapses.
  7. When playing in Platoon, the maps excluded by the Platoon Commander have the priority.

4. Vehicle Customization

1. Now paints can be applied to vehicles of all tiers.

5. Changes to the Stun Mechanics

  1. Additional stun duration (caused to vehicles that are already stunned) decreases in time by half.
  2. The Superheavy Spall Liner additionally decreases duration of repeated stuns by 20%; the Heavy Spall Liner decreases it by 10%.
  3. The minimum stun duration of all SPGs in the game has been reduced by 5% of the maximum stun duration.
  4. The damage at the edge of the burst radius has been changed from 0.15 to 0.05 for all HE shells (SPGs and other vehicles firing HE shells). It results in a damage re-calcuation within the burst radius. Damage caused by indirect hits of HE shells decreases. Stun duration also decreases. These changes will insignificantly affect direct hits of HE shells.
  5. Changes to the Technical Characteristics of some SPGs.

“Martians”

The German tank streamer “mouzAkrobat” spoke with WG CEO Viktor Kisly during TwitchCon (held in Berlin from April 13 to April 14) . Here is very briefly what the head of the company said. The German guy was very much interested in the company itself.

– Starting with patch 9.18, the game received a lot of criticism; The problem, according to Victor, was that Wargaming was a fast-growing company, and employees often took care of themselves, without paying proper attention to the game itself.
– The resolution of some issues has sometimes been delayed for too long, because there are a lot of people with their personal opinions.
– Victor himself is a fan of the German tank branch, but he believes that it is much better for the game when players are satisfied with the balance of all tanks of all nations – and this can bring the greatest profit in the long run and attract players.
“Of course, he cannot provide all the details, but the next update after 1.5 will bring global rebalance, and, among other things, the characteristics of German tanks will be updated: the Leopard 1, E 100 and Tiger II are mentioned.
– Leopard 1 is waiting for a radical (strong) rebalance, and Victor already likes the changes to which he was devoted.
– Nothing special was said about the E 100, it was just mentioned that the changes were announced earlier at the WG Fest 2018.
– But the changes on Tiger II are extremely specific, and he hopes that these edits will work. Qualitative and extensive changes are expected.

Sub_Octavian shared this info through stream today with femennenly, all content I am sharing here is subject to change, no confirmed dates, just 0.8.4.0 is the likeliest possible patch that any of this new content could arrive.

Admiral Nikolay Kuznetsov

Nikolay Kuznetsov.PNG

This new soviet commander shall be akin to Admiral Halsey and Admiral Yamamoto. He will however not be earned in the same manner of having an entire campaign dedicated to acquiring him. WG wants to test a new method of in-game tasks that may be easier then those campaigns, no details are given as to how this new system may function, just that it is a test bed for future commanders to be earned in the future.

His Talents are Hidden Reserve and Will to Win. Hidden Reserve functions in the same manner as it does for Yamamoto. Will to Win is a new tallent unique to this commander, designed to be easier to activate talent then the other admirals. Upon your ship HP dropping below 10%, a Damage Control Party is activated, dispersion of enemy shells is increased by 20%, and a repair party repairing 7.5% per second is activated. All 3 effects are active for 30 seconds, and only activates once per battle. No consumable charges get spent.

Unlike all the other special commanders in the game, Kuznetsov only has 1 enhanced skill instead of 2. Jack of all Trades, consumable cool down is reduced by 10% instead of 5%

New Collection:

Capture
This the new collection for the russian arc being introduced for the russian battleships.

New Map: Greece

New Map
Greece is a new High Tier map, based on it’s titular location. The map will be domination mode, and will have 3-4(?) capture zones. (Pictured is 3) The map will feature localized weather, with a probability of around 20-25% for tier 10 battles. The map features alot of short islands for cover and shooting overtop of them. This map may also act as a test bed for shallow water mechanics, water that does not have sufficient depth for ships and/or torpedoes to pass. This map may also serve as a test bed for destructible terrain. This is only a possibility, and these features may not be implemented at all when the map goes live eventually.
New Map 2
New Map 3.PNG
New Map 4.PNG
New Map 5.PNG
This map features a lot of cover and islands to allow for aggressive pushes, but at the same time a number of the islands will not provide immunity to return damage.

Dynamic Weather in Ports

Port 1.PNG
Port 2.PNG
A new feature that may arrive as soon as 0.8.4.0 is alternating weather in some ports. They may change on an hourly basis, or not, the conditions for port weather changes is still unclear, but is being actively developed right now. As well as port performance is still being actively worked on for improvements.

Historical Reference:
The USS Somers was built in 1937, and served until 1945. She was one of 5 Somers class DDs, who distinctive feature was their large array of ship-to-ship weaponry in their torpedoes and main armament. But they had almost no AA until 1944 when their single purpose main batteries were replaced with a smaller array of dual purpose battery. In-game the Somers is represented in her pre-1944 refit configuration. Read more here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Somers_(DD-381)

CV Aircraft Launch Changes:

A new change is being made to CVs. This change is supposed to address the issue of ships being detected moments after a battle starts by CV’s doing a spotting run at the battle start. A delay for the first launch of their aircraft is now being introduced give some time for enemy ships to have time to figure out their gameplan and to start moving to their chosen flank. This delay is based on CV tier, as the issue is more prevalent the higher the tier, given aircraft speed increases dramatically over the tiers.

This change is being considered particular important for the development of competitive gameplay with CVs.

Legendary Modules:

This isn’t so much an announcement, but rather an answer to the question of what is up with the T10 CV legendary modules. The reason why none of the new T10 warships that have been added to the game since the introduction of Legendary Modules have received one as an option and why the T10 CV’s have their’s frozen,  is the whole concept of legendary modules still being assessed as a game mechanic as a whole. They determining if there can be a more fun and engaging game mechanic for acquiring them, as well as their overall current balance.

[Supertest] Medium Tanks Rebalance: In the Pursuit of Excellence

From EU Portal

Throughout 2019, we will be revising the characteristics of various vehicles in World of Tanks, trying to find an optimal balance. It’s an ongoing process, and we carefully consider your feedback to better understand in which direction we should proceed. Our ultimate goal is to make all vehicles competitive on the battlefield, while maintaining the unique features of each tank.

At WG Fest last December, we announced an upcoming rebalance of five iconic vehicles. One of them, the Kranvagn, will receive its portion of consistent improvements soon with Update 1.5. Now it’s time to pay attention to some medium tanks and adjust their key battle parameters. Let’s take a closer look!

The STB-1 and Its Branch

The STB-1 is a versatile, fast-accelerating vehicle with a well-sloped turret and good gun depression angles. This vehicle is ideal for mid-to-close combat, and it’s designed to constantly deal damage. The STB-1 commonly plays the role of an active aggressor on the front line, or of an effective support vehicle – the latter is how this vehicle was initially conceived. Its DPM is very impressive and is one of the best in World of Tanks, while its gun stabilization leaves much to be desired. So it’s time to make it more competitive and add some new touches to its profile!

post1.pngFinally, we are looking to equip the STB-1 with a commonly requested game feature: hydropneumatic suspension — just like the one available with the top-tier Swedish medium tanks. We will thoroughly test this feature, and if we are satisfied with the test results, we will definitely equip this vehicle with it.

In addition, we’re going to rebalance the performance of some other vehicles in the Japanese Tech Tree, especially those sitting at Tier VIII, the STA-1 and the STA-2. The DPM of the STA-1 will increase, making it more competitive.

We also carefully analyzed your feedback regarding the STA-2 and its gameplay and realized this mobile tank could be even more effective, so we will also slightly improve some of its key characteristics. We will unveil the detailed changes of this Premium machine a bit later, after finalizing the settings of other vehicles.

The Leopard 1

We consider the Leopard 1 as a long-distance sniper — fast and maneuverable. First of all, we will increase its alpha damage from 390 to 420, as well as armor penetration. We will also change the type of standard shells for this tank. By default, it will fire armor-piercing shells, and their velocity will become one of the highest in the game.

The Leopard 1 will be enhanced as a sniper and will be able to hit enemies more effectively at long range, thanks to increased accuracy and decreased aiming time. Also, its forward speed will increase by 5 km/h to 70 km/h, making the Leopard 1 the fastest Tier X medium tank in the game!

Due to such a serious improvement in its characteristics, we will have to reduce some other parameters which have less impact on its battle role. In particular, we’re reducing:

  • Reverse speed by 3 km/h, to 20 km/h
  • HP pool by 100 points, to 1850 points
  • Power-to-weight ratio
post2.png

However, after the rebalance, the Leopard 1 will still retain excellent mobility.

We also want to properly reconfigure the entire branch and check the effects of our changes on the researchable vehicles. Only then will we proceed to rebalance Premium Tier VIII tanks. So, the characteristics of the Pz. 58 Mutz will certainly be changed, but only after rebalancing the entire branch.

The AMX 30 B

The main change we’ve prepared for this tank is increased armor penetration with standard and special shells. At the same time, the alpha damage of the AMX 30 B will remain average.

post3.png

When rebalancing the characteristics of this vehicle, we constantly kept in mind that it had no distinct playing role. The AMX 30 B is a universal second line support vehicle, which can perform equally well in a variety of game situations. However, it lacks accuracy and armor penetration when playing at long distances, so we decided to improve these characteristics. It’s the most universal choice as it performs better than the Leopard 1 at close quarters and better than the STB-1 at long range.

The Object 430 and the Object 430U

These formidable vehicles have demonstrated good effectiveness since their introduction in World of Tanks, so we didn’t rush to change their characteristics. They were also not very common in Random Battles, and their number didn’t affect the game balance.

However, the number of these two tanks has increased in the last six months, as well as your feedback regarding their combat performance. Therefore, we decided to reduce some of their excessively high combat parameters.

Тhere’s Still A Lot of Work Ahead!

This is only the second iteration of a large-scale rebalancing which we are carrying out this year. In the future, we’ll focus on some popular heavy tanks, so share your feedback on the forum which vehicles should be rebalanced first. Stay tuned!
